Overview:
This course covers the basic steps involved in configuring an Internet firewall, and provides hands-on training to manage a VPN-1/FireWall-1 installation. The new capabilities in the NG with Application Intelligence are highlighted, as well as detection of intruders features (Smartdefense). This is the recommended training to obtain the CCSA (Check Point Certified Security Administrator NG)
Who should take this class
Systems administrators, security managers, and network engineers who manage VPN-1/FireWall-1 solutions, and are seeking to obtain the Check Point Certified Security Administrator (CCSA) NG certification.
Prerequisites:
• Knowledge of Windows NT/2000 and/or UNIX, • Basic networking knowledge • Experience with TCP/IP and the Internet
What you will learn
• VPN-1/FireWall-1 architecture, and how to deploy its various modules and components • How to define a Security Policy using VPN-1/FireWall-1 through the security Dashboard (management interface), incorporating the SmartMap (network scheme visualization module) • How to administrate and update Firewalls distributed in different locations, using the Check Point’s SmartUpdate and the Secure Internal Communications (SIC) • How to administer and troubleshoot VPN-1/FireWall-1 Security Policies • How to manage and administer VPN-1/FireWall-1 auditing (logs) registers • How to enable and use SmartDefense for attacks detection and protection in real time. • How to implement NAT (Network Address Translation) • How to enable User Authentication in a VPN-1/FireWall-1 environment • How to back up the Firewall setup
